Usually our final half marathon finisher comes in between 3 hours and 3:30 hours. We don't have a formal cutoff.

Bib pickup is on Friday, May 29 from 4pm - 8pmis at Sports Basement Almaden (5353 Almaden Expy, San Jose, CA 95118). We call this party LOAD IN.

We STRONGLY encourage you to pickup at Load In. We can't guarantee you'll start on time if you pickup on race morning.

On street parking is free. There is paid parking in Almaden Lake Park.

Yes, there are water stops every 1-2 miles. Check course for more detail. 

Yes, all finishers get a shirt, finishers medal and an unparalled post race celebration.

Yes, there are potties at the Start/Finish and on the course. 

Yes, we do have an informal gear check. Please leave valuables at home.

There will be beer tasting for racers over 21 years of age, non-alcoholic beer, and other drinks like bubbly water and soda pop. There will also be post-race treats. Runners can purchase Lazy Friend so friends can join them with a beer at the end of the run. Post-run beer tasting lasts until 12pm.

Family and friends are also welcome to come at no charge if they don't want to drink beer or try any of the snacks. This is a family-friendly event. 

Shout out to our friends at Mendocino Running Festival for inspiration. This is an insanely great take on the Beer Mile. Like a beer mile you drink 4 beers over 1 mile of running. With Beat the Beast, you have to stay ahead of the beast - a new one for each Beer City - who may run slower that you do -- but definitely drinks faster. Don't get caught by the Beast or you are OUT of the race.

Shindig is our post-race party. Join us at Clandestine Brewing (980 S 1st St ste b, San Jose, CA 95110) in the afternoon from 1pm - 5pm. There will be special taproom activities just for Beer City weekend and we will have music and games. Your ticket covers your first beer.
